On a MEDLIFE Reality Tour, volunteers join our staff in the field to learn about partner communities and their daily challenges. It's often volunteers' first exposure to extreme poverty, making it one of the most impactful experiences of their trip. The tour aims to introduce volunteers to the area's culture and history, laying the groundwork for cultural awareness and sensitivity, vital when serving communities abroad.

Support Mobile Clinics in various Tamarindo communities. Each day, clinics are in a different area. Depart at 7 am via bus, unpack supplies, and assist health professionals. Clinics start at 8-9 am, covering vital signs, educational talks, and medical consultations. Volunteers stay until lunch, then switch to afternoon stations. Clinics close between 1-3 pm. Evening activities at the hotel before dinner. On free days, explore the city.

On this day, join locals for a community project like renovation or construction. We'll depart at 7:30 am, so wear suitable attire for manual work. After completion, celebrate with the community. Return to the hostel around 2:30-4:00 pm for a wrap-up session with the MEDLIFE team.

Brace yourself for an afternoon of adventure as you take on the challenge of canopy zip-lining, rappelling down rock faces, and scaling rocky heights. After the adrenaline rush, unwind and rejuvenate in the natural hot springs of Guachipelin. Immerse yourself in the warm, mineral-rich waters while surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the rainforest—an ideal way to relax and reflect on your action-packed day.

Hike in Rincón de la Vieja National Park

Begin your day by exploring the stunning Rincón de la Vieja National Park. This hike will take you through lush natural trails, where you can admire the unique flora and fauna of the region.

Make a stop at the majestic Oropendula Waterfall, a breathtaking natural wonder. Take in the cascading waters and the beauty of the surrounding landscape, offering a perfect photo opportunity and a refreshing break.

Recharge with a delicious lunch to fuel your afternoon adventures.

Leave the serene natural setting behind as you transfer to the vibrant beach town of Tamarindo.

Your fourth day brings you to Palo Verde National Park for a blend of wildlife encounters and cultural exploration.

Park Tempisque River Boat Tour

Embark on a thrilling Tempisque River boat tour, an adventure that will bring you face to face with a plethora of fascinating wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for the sight of numerous crocodiles, white-faced and howler monkeys, iguanas, and migratory birds.

Delight in a traditional Costa Rican lunch that includes rice, beans, salad, picadillo, chicken in sauce, and refreshing natural juice. For dessert, savor a choice of rice pudding or coffee, providing a taste of authentic local cuisine.
