At MEDLIFE, we're dedicated to building a global movement that empowers disadvantaged communities in their quest for equality in healthcare, education, and access to a safe home. As a volunteer in the Service Learning Trip (SLT) program in Antigua, Guatemala, you'll contribute to development projects, participate in educational workshops, and provide free medical care to those in need. Additionally, you'll have the invaluable opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture and understand other realities.

8-nights dorm room accommodation for 6 to 9 people, exclusively with MEDLIFE participants.
3 meals a day are provided Monday-Friday, along with breakfast provided on the weekends.
To and from the airport (within the established schedule), and to SLT activities.
The insurance requires a $250 payment as a deductible for coverage.
Arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA) from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. A MEDLIFE representative will greet you and guide you to your accommodation. After some rest and settling in, you're free to explore. While meals aren't provided today, nearby restaurants offer delightful dinner options.
Your Trip Leader will guide a walking tour of Antigua, offering insights into local life. In the evening, we'll hold an orientation, distribute PPE, discuss the week's agenda, safety measures, and introduce Mobile Clinics. Meals aren't provided today, but many dining options are nearby.
On a MEDLIFE Reality Tour, volunteers join our staff to grasp our partner communities' daily challenges. This eye-opening experience introduces them to extreme poverty and aims to immerse them in the local culture and history, fostering crucial cultural awareness for effective service.
Volunteers will assist Mobile Clinics in different communities near Antigua, departing at 7 am after breakfast. Upon arrival, they'll unpack supplies, attend a brief training, and start clinics around 8-9 am, assisting in various stations until lunch. Afternoon sessions follow, with clinics closing between 1-3 pm. Evenings include post-clinic activities before dinner at 6 pm. On free days, volunteers can explore the city.
This day, you'll join locals for a community project, like renovating homes or building wells, departing the hostel at 7:30 am. Wear clothes suitable for messy tasks like moving soil. After completing the project, celebrate with the community. Return to the hostel around 2:30-4:00 pm for a reflection session with the MEDLIFE team to end the week.
